Two tight defeats on the live webcast field, then two clean wins on one day of preliminaries: South Africa's Men climbed five places to 9th at the 2026 UPBF World Championship.
South Africa's Men's team won two of its three group games in Basildon, England, and reached the quarter-finals, where Russia, the eventual champions, beat it.
On their first international outing, South Africa's three-woman team beat Russia in the final in Prague to become the first 3-player Women's World Champions of the UPBF.
Unbeaten in the group stage, South Africa's first U19 team lost its semi-final to Great Britain on seeding after an overtime tie, and finished 4th in Chantilly, France.
A South African team, Team Dynamix, won Division 1 at the Naza World Cup Asia in Langkawi, Malaysia, in November 2013 and also played for South Africa in the Intercontinental Cup.
SANPA received an official invitation to send a South African team to the first Paintball World Cup in Chantilly, France, in September 2013. The team finished 13th.
In 2013 SANPA invited importers, shops, fields, clubs, leagues and media to provincial meetings in five provinces to shape the future growth of paintball.
SANPA was launched on 15 July 2012 at Paintball City, at the annual general meeting of the South African Regional Paintball League, in front of 48 members and players.
What SANPA set out to do when it started in 2012: grow paintball and airsoft in South Africa, keep them safe, and build a national record of players, clubs and venues.
